Whirlwind and Fire

If you’ve ever felt like current circumstances are too big, too confusing, or just downright overwhelming then welcome to our community.

We know what it feels like when it seems like there are so many things swirling around us that we can’t do anything about them because they’re just too big.

But we aren’t supposed to do it on our own. We aren’t supposed to take it all on. We aren’t supposed to be an island of one.

We are a community. But even more importantly…

We are accepted. We are loved. We are surrounded. All by the Creator of the Universe. And He will always be there in every situation.

In the midst of the whirlwind, He is always there.

Sometimes life just seems like a whirlwind. Everything is circling, we don’t know which way to turn, or what to do next. There’s just too much and we get overwhelmed by it all.

But in the Old Testament, do you know what happened in the midst of a whirlwind?

God showed up. Right in the middle of it!

In 2 King 2:1 God showed up to take Elijah up to heaven by a whirlwind.

In Job 38:1 and 40:6, He answered Job out of the whirlwind.

He will do the same for us. Every situation, every fear, every loss, every overwhelm that we have, He shows up in the middle of it all.

When the fire is hot and you don’t think you can take anymore, know that the Refiner has you in His hands.

God also shows up in the fires. Whether we create them ourselves or, we are thrust into them, He is there.

In Exodus 3:2 an Angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush.

He also went before Moses and the children of Israel by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.

When things get hot and we are afraid, remember, He is there.

Fire is used to purify. It separates precious metal from fillers and purifies that metal. We are being purified. He can use any situation, even ones we don’t want or ask for, to create in us what he wants and ultimately, what we need.

In the Whirlwind or the Fire, find Him in the middle of it all. He’s there.

Regardless of whether you are dealing with overwhelming circumstances or situations that feel devastating, He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. He will always stick closer than a friend or a brother.

You can always count on Him to be there when you need, with exactly what you need to face your situation.

No matter what you have been through in the past, what you are dealing with at this moment, or what will come your way…

Find Him in the Middle of It All.

Jeremiah 29:13, Matthew 7:7
